Wednesday, December 16 – Day 4

Wonderful Wednesday 🙂

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As a reminder to parents, we really appreciate you NOT sending food in for celebrations this week. We are still dealing with Covid-19 restrictions and hope to keep everyone safe.

Dec. 18 – Last day of classes for 2020

Music Notice:
While we are disappointed that concert gatherings are not permitted this year, we are excited for classes to present their own, “virtual”, musical video to their families. On a rotation basis due to not being free to share instruments because of Covid, students will record their talents once throughout the year, some classes before the December Break, some classes before the March Break, and the remaining classes shortly afterwards. The students are looking forward to bringing musical cheer to you over the upcoming months.

Grade 6 Upper Room Fundraiser
As we come into this season of giving, we are encouraging students to consider the needs of others. The grade six classes at Stratford Elementary are organizing a fundraising initiative to contribute to the Local Foodbank – Upper Room.

This fundraiser will run from December 7th – December 16th. This year, we will be collecting monetary donations only. Arrangements are being made to allow parents to make a donation on the school hot lunch website, or money can be sent in to homeroom teachers. Students will receive ballots for their donations, giving them a chance to win a gift card for ToysRUs! Thank you in advance for your support!

Bussing – Please make sure your child is out 10 minutes prior to pick up time in the mornings. All students must be ready in time. Thank you for your cooperation.

Christmas Families

Every year, families and community groups help support families within our school who are in need of extra support during the holiday season – our “Christmas Angels” program allows any interested person(s) or group(s) to offer donations (gift cards, cash) and/or to purchase Christmas wish items for children and their families within our school community.  Currently we have several families who would benefit from having additional support during the holiday season – please let our school counsellors (Josie Kelly-Kenny,  or Dylan Taylor know if you would like to contribute in some way to this program.  Our families benefit immensely from the kindness and generosity of our community each and every year!
