LIBRARY:
-The staff and students of Stratford Elementary School would like to send out a big “Thank You” to the Bookmark for its gift of $1000 worth of books for our library.  Thanks to their generous donation, the library was able to purchase the books necessary to participate in the Hackmatack Children’s Choice Book Awards – along with many other books for our growing readers!
MUSIC:
Performance–Honour choir concert Saturday, March 2nd, 2 p.m. at Park Royal Church. All welcome!
PHYSICAL EDUCATION:
After School Badminton Club will run from 2:30-3:30 p.m. from January 29th until March 7th:
Tuesdays-Grade 5
Thursdays-Grade 6
Reminder: Students must have after school transportation arranged prior to arrival at school.

BOOK FAIR:
Students will have a scheduled opportunity to visit the Book Fair during the school day on Wednesday, March 6th or Thursday, March 7th. The hours are as follows:
Wednesday, March 6th–8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
Thursday, March 7th–8:30 a.m.-8:00 p.m.
Friday, March 8th–8:00 a.m.-11 a.m.
YEARBOOKS:
The order deadline for 2018-2019 yearbooks is Friday, April 19th for on-line orders and Thursday, April 18th for in-school orders. In addition to in-school orders, our on-line Hot Lunch program is set up to receive orders as well as Lifetouch (ybpay.lifetouch.ca
ID Code: 11542619) Cost: $25.00.
Please Note: We don’t stock extra yearbooks to sell in June; therefore, this is the only opportunity if your student is interested in receiving a yearbook.
EARLY CLOSURES/DELAYS:
We remind parents to listen  to the radio on a regular basis and check out the storm or Public Schools Branch websites in case their is a delay or Early Closure. Also, buses that have been delayed due to breakdown, etc., are announced on the radio.
COMMUNITY NOTE:
Free public skate (2-3 p.m.) this Sunday at the Pownal Rink. Free hot chocolate!
SCIENCE FAIR:
Students will be presenting their projects for judging on Tuesday, March 5th. At 11:00-11:25 a.m. the Fair will be open to the public for viewing. Wishing our participants good luck!
