Tomorrow, Thursday, February 7th is National Sweater Day. National Sweater Day was created to teach everyone the importance of saving energy and to inspire you to use less heat all winter. Heating accounts for 80% of residential energy use in Canada and is a significant source of emissions. If all Canadians lowered their thermostats by just 2 degrees Celsius this winter, it would reduce greenhouse gas emissions by about 4 megatons – that’s equivalent to shutting down a 600 mega-watt coal-fired power station or taking nearly 700,000 cars off the road!

There will be a meeting for all new class reps tomorrow (Thursday) at reading period in the library. If you have not picked your new reps please do so today and let Ms. Poirier know.

For a limited time, there will be a free books area in the library for you to take a book home, if there are any left by the end of next week, we will donate them to the Literacy Alliance.
