Update on Parent Conferences

Gulf Shore Families,

There have been recent changes made to protocols that must be followed for Parent Conferences next week that were recently communicated to us by CPHO and the PSB. The biggest change is that no students or other children are allowed to be in attendance. Only one parent is permitted to attend per child.  That means that there are no student-led conferences for any grades at this time. All other reminders remain the same as previously communicated.

  • All staff and parents are required to wear non-medical masks, except when seated a minimum of 6-feet apart during the interview.
  • Hand sanitizer will be provided at entrances, exits and other common areas throughout the school.
  • Parents are not required to sign in at the entrance as we have a record of all conferences
  • If entering the bookfair we ask all parents to sign into the book fair and not to gather in the multi-purpose room when purchasing books.
  • Do not come to the school if you have symptoms of Covid-19

We are very excited that parents are able to come into the school next week and we look forward to discussing your child’s learning with you.

Every year, during our Gulf Shore Remembrance Day observance, we share a slide show of pictures of our Gulf Shore family veterans and those who currently serve – both to pay tribute to them and to help our students make a more personal connection to why we remember.
If you have a photo of one of your family’s veterans/service members that you would like to have included in this slideshow, please send a scanned image of your relative to Mrs. MacLaine at ktmaclaine@edu.pe.ca.  Please also include their name and rank, as well as the names of the Gulf Shore students they are related to no later than Friday, November 6th.
If you have submitted a photo in the past, you do not need to send it again.

Home and School Fundraiser

Dear parents,

Thanks to the continued generosity of the Smith family, we have once again partnered up with Smith’s Tree Farm for this year’s fundraiser. In addition to Trees we will also have Holiday wreaths available! The Gulf Shore Home and School will receive $5 from the sale of every wreath and $10 for every tree.

Holiday Wreaths $25

14” handmade Balsam Fir, decorated with hand-picked pine cones, homemade bows and holly berries

Orders & payment for wreaths must be in by Thursday November 5th

Balsam Fir Trees $40

Locally grown and sizes to fit everyone’s homes!

Orders & payment for trees must be in by Saturday, November 21st.

As with many things, COVID-19 is changing how we do our fundraiser this year. To ensure the safety of all, we are limiting our interactions and going online for our ordering and payments.

Step #1 Families are asked to keep track of their buyers and collect money.

Step #2 Purchase the wreaths & trees using the same method that you would to order your milk/pizza. www.gulfshorehotlunches.net

Step #3 Fill out your order via a google form (one for wreaths and a separate one for trees) with the information on who you sold to. You find the link on the school website.

Wreath Form

For wreaths, we will be doing a drive-thru pick up for families who sold wreaths, to come to the school on Saturday November 21st between 9am and noon to pick up all the wreaths they sold and deliver to their buyers.

For Trees, once all sales are in, we will be sending home certificates with your child. You will then give those certificates to your buyers. These certificates will go home the week of November 23rd and can be redeemed from December 1st thru December 20th at one of two locations. Smith’s Christmas Tree Farm in Mayfield (u-pick or pre-cut) or at The Charlottetown Canadian Tire Tree lot location (pre-cut only).

If you have any questions or if you do not use the online hotlunches.net but would still like to participate in our fundraiser please email Erin macraeforrest@hotmail.com

Thank you for supporting Gulf Shore Home & School
