Bingo – May 27 – Georgetown Home and School Association

A third cash and prize Bingo is set to go on Sunday May 27th in the Gym of the Georgetown School. Stop by, support a wonderful group doing great things. Check out the new tables that were purchased from funds raised at the last Bingo….

  • May 10- Fish Friends presentation to grade 7 & 8 class
  • May 10- Hot Dog Day- organized by grade 4/5/6
  • May 11- Student Well Being Team presentation to students in grades 1-8 on HYGEINE
  • May 11- David Trimble to school to complete “birds-eye-view” painting of Georgetown for main lobby
  • May 17- “Welcome to Kindergarten”evening for incoming students
  • May 21- Victoria Day- No School
  • May 27 – Bingo
  • June 1- No School for Kindergarten Class only
  • June 13- Field Trip to Camp Emmanuel for grades K-8
  • June 20-21 Grade 8 Travel to Halifax

Hornet Pick of the Week- May 3

Congratulations going out to one artsy Georgetown Hornet in Grade 5, Shaye M. is our deserving Hornet Pick of the Week. Always setting a positive example on how to behave in her class and the school, great job Shaye! Keep up the good work.

Montague Tigers RFC(Rugby Football Club) Rookie Rugby

Organized sport for children aged 4-12 from the Kings County region. This program had great success last summer in the Charlottetown area and is now expanding to include us.

Our Montague program will consist of:
What: 8 weekly one hour sessions,
When: Wednesday nights at MRHS starting June 27 and going until August 15.
Time: one hour within the 6-8pm slot. Final details TBD.
Also: 2-3 Saturday morning Island wide jamborees with the other RR programs.

Costs: are now finalized for our U4-U11’s and U12’s (flag) $55. + fee, and includes a t-shirt and ball for all new Rookie Rugby participants.

Try Rugby Event- Wednesday May 30th

Montague Tigers Rugby- Reminder that we have a second free “try rugby” event coming up for all 4-12 year olds interested in trying out the world’s best sport! The first tryout on May 9th had a great turnout with 35 new Rookies in attendance. The next “try rugby” event is Wed, May 30th, 6:30-7:30 pm in the gym at Montague Regional High School. Pass the word! See you there!

  • Congratulations going out to Ms. Gullander-Drolet’s Grade 3 ELA class on completing their persuasive writing- they wrote letters that convinced Ms. G-D to make them a pancake breakfast this morning! Great job girls!

Congrats going out to Hornet Picks of the Month for April- Gabbi K. and Brayden W. in grade 7 and Kylie R. in grade 3. We hope you continue to set a positive behavior examples for the other students at Georgetown Elementary School.
