I Am a Cobra

I’m not a tiger, or a warrior,
and I don’t wear yellow and black.
Yes, I do know Laura and Penny from Cumberland Street
and I’m certain they are really, really nice.
I believe in learning, not memorizing,
I believe in friendships, not cliques,
I believe in sports and academics, not one or the other.
And when our sports teams lose,
we still hold our heads high
because we were taught that winning isn’t everything.
I speak English and French,
a bathroom is a washroom
and yes, we will use math when we are older.
The cobra is truely a proud, tough, and noble reptile
Birchwood has the greatest staff,
was the first junior high in Charlottetown,
And where I had the time of my life.
My name is Jill,
and I AM A COBRA.
