After School Badminton Club will run from 2:30-3:30 p.m. from January 29th until March 7th:
Reminder: Students must have after school transportation arranged prior to arrival at school.
Information is going home with students regarding the “try out” schedule for the championships. The schedule is as follows:
Doubles–Wednesday, March 27th–Gr. 5 & 6 Boys
Doubles–Thursday, March 28th–Gr. 5 & 6 Girls
Singles–Tuesday, April 2nd–Gr. 5 & 6 Boys
Singles–Wednesday, April 3rd–Gr. 5 & 6 Girls
The top 3 players in singles and the top 2 teams in doubles from the school tournament will go on to represent Stratford at the Zone 3 Championship on April 15th (Doubles) and April 16th & 17th (Singles). The Provincial championship will take place April 30th & May 4th.

Classes will have a scheduled opportunity to visit the Book Fair during the school day today. Proceeds will be used to purchase new material for the Library. The hours are as follows:
Wednesday, March 6th–8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
Thursday, March 7th–8:30 a.m.-8:00 p.m.
Friday, March 8th–8:00 a.m.-11 a.m.

The order deadline for 2018-2019 yearbooks is Friday, April 19th for on-line orders and Thursday, April 18th for in-school orders. In addition to in-school orders, our on-line Hot Lunch program is set up to receive orders as well as Lifetouch (ybpay.lifetouch.ca)

Please Note: We don’t stock extra yearbooks to sell in June; therefore, this is the only opportunity if your student is interested in receiving a yearbook.
NO CLASSES-Friday, March 8th:
Tomorrow is designated as a Parent-Teacher Interviews day. As a result, there will be no classes. Students will return to class Monday, March 11th.
We remind parents to listen to the radio on a regular basis and check out the storm or Public Schools Branch websites in case their is a delay or Early Closure. Also, buses that have been delayed due to breakdown, etc., are announced on the radio.
Students presented their projects yesterday. The winners will be announced 1st recess today. Once again, thank you to our 16 judges!
Second term Learning Reports went home with students. Please complete the “comment” sheet, sign the front of the reusable envelope and return to your child’s homeroom teacher. These envelopes will be saved and reused to contain the third term report.
Destination Imagination is a thinking and problem solving challenge, culminating in a provincial tournament this Saturday at East Wiltshire School. Teams of Students from Stratford Elementary are participating in the improvisational challenge.
Destination Imagination’s mission is:
“To engage participants in project-based challenges that are designed to build confidence and develop extraordinary creativity, critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills”
