PRINCIPAL’s MESSAGE:
It seems that the PEI autumn flew in with unexpected warm winds and turned time so fast that we already have completed our first term here at Stratford Elementary.  During this whirl wind we have been working daily on being the best we can be.   There are three important words being used in our school; Respect, Kindness, and Safety.   These are more than words as they are actions.   There are so many wonderful students here that practice these actions every day. These actions are noted to students in the announcements and will continue to be spoken throughout the school year.   We need to give these words and actions to you for your help in building strong school citizens.   Of course with implementing these actions we have discovered some negative behaviors.  In the past students have been kept in at recess and lunch time as a time for them to reflect on their actions.   This will now be called “Time In”.   Teachers and administrators will be sending home a green slip of paper which you will need to sign, so you as parents are aware of the time in and in turn can support respect, kindness and safety with our students.

It is a very difficult job for both parents and staff to help young children take responsibility for their own actions but at the same time they most often rise to the occasion and quickly become the best they can be as persons.
