Summerside Intermediate School led 22-20 at the half. All Tigers saw floortime and contributed meaningful minutes in the victory, the team’s third of the season. The Tigers host East Wiltshire Thursday.
Girls A Basketball:
The girls “A” basketball team scored with less than 3 seconds to clinch the win over Queen Charlotte last night. Dannicha Clark score 5 points and the winning basket to lift the Tigers to their first win of the season. Carly McCarron led all scorers with 10 points. Aby Walsh and Gracie Hogan played great defensively. The girls will play again tonight at Birchwood. Girls are asked to be at Birchwood no later than 3:30 dressed and ready to go. Way to go girls!
Reminder to students who are lining up to get into the gym at noon-time to please do so quietly and respectfully. Students who are making a mess in the hallway will not be permitted in the gym.
Boys “A” Basketball:
The Boy’s ‘A’ Basketball team had a strong showing against Queen Charlotte yesterday. The game was tight after the first half, and the boys got into a bit of foul trouble at the start of the third quarter, but the team fought hard to take the win 38-25. Our defence continued to show a strong improvement, stopping QC from gaining any momentum in the second half; with Chase Bell and Brady French intercepting many passes, and Jordan Jennings going up strong to get numerous offensive and defensive rebounds. Great job all around! The ‘A’ team plays their next game, away, at Gulf Shore Consolidated on Thursday at 6:30. Good luck boys!
