– This week – April 22-26, is National Earth Week. This week, as you go about your daily business, think about what you can do to help protect the Earth and its environment. Do you turn off the lights when you leave a room? Do you pick up trash outside? Do you bring a reusable water bottle to school? Do you recycle grocery bags? This week, we want students and teachers to bring in their plastic shopping bags and the Green Team will recycle them. Teachers, Mrs. Burry will also be sending out some videos that you can show your classes during Reading Period.
– the Green Team will meet today, (Wednesday), during Reading Period in the Multipurpose Room next to the office. All class reps should attend and bring any plastic bags that have been brought to your classroom.
Band Camp forms:
The Intermediate and Senior levels are now available in the band room and on the band blog. All grade 7, 8 and 9 band students are encouraged to attend. This year’s camp is being held here at Stonepark from August 19th-24th.
A Call from the International Space Station:
The countdown is on! We will be speaking with Canadian astronaut David Saint-Jacques in 8 days. Did you know that the International Space Station flies 400 km above the Earth at a speed of 28 800 km/h, and takes just 90 minutes to make a complete circuit of Earth? Astronauts working and living on the Station experience 16 sunrises and sunsets each day. Make sure you get your consent forms in to be a part of this unique experience!
Any girls interested in trying out for Stonepark’s softball team should sign up outside Mr. Dunn’s class (lower floor grade 8). Please listen to the announcements for try out times!
Girls Flag Football tryouts:
Will only be today (Wednesday) after school this week.
