Tuesday – Day 3

Cafeteria:
Taco Tuesday, served with Mexican Rice

Stonepark Youth Group:
The afterschool youth group will met in the library today (Tuesday), and will now meet in room 333 (TPC room, teachers prep room) . Students are welcomed to learn stories, create art, eat snacks and make new friends.

Leadership Students:
All leadership students who are attending on Friday, please check in with Ms. Poirier in the library today at break and lunch. She is finalizing the Winter Carnival schedule, it is very important.

Code Club:
Code Club will meet today at 12:30 in Mrs. Reynard’s room. This will be the last meeting of the year.  But, permission slips will be given out about a new after school code club that will be starting right after March break.  Come at lunch today to find out more info!

Pascal Math:
Pascal Math Results:  students who wrote the Pascal math contest can see Mr. Rooney in his room during a break sometime today to get their results.

Destination Imagination:
Stonepark was well represented this year at the provincial Destination Imagination competition by our very own “The Fast and the Curious” consisting of Jane Eschholz, Codilyn Durdle, Abby Larkin, Paige Hancock, Alyssa Perry and Hannah Ellis.  Honourable mention goes out to Kamryn MacPhee who had to drop from the competition at the last minute due to a scheduling conflict. The team started strong with a solid performance on their central challenge, then lost Jane to illness before their instant challenge. The team rocked their instant challenge, representing well and lining themselves up for an even stronger showing next year.  Congratulations girls, and don’t forget: IT’S YOUR TIME TO SHINE!!!!

Youth Empowerment Programme:
The Youth Empowerment Programme PEI that operates as an after-school programme in neighbourhoods and schools is offering its annual March Break Youth Camp for junior high students aged 11 – 15. The Programme is designed to help youth with sharpening their literacy skills, creating various forms of art, and planning projects that can help the community.

The camps will accomplish this through the following activities:

  • Playing cooperative sports
  • Sharing stories with morals
  • Group discussions
  • Creating art projects – music, drama, painting
  • Planning projects to help their community – visiting seniors and children to share
    games and stories

Lunch is provided. The camps are meant to be affordable to everyone, so the cost is $40. However, full scholarships are automatically available if its needed.

Sherwood-Parkdale Rangers Soccer Club:
The Sherwood-Parkdale Rangers Soccer Club offers recreational and competitive programs for all ages.
In person registration dates for 2020 season:
Saturday, April 4 10:00am to 2:00pm. Room 234 House of Sport (Royalty Center)
Wednesday, April 8 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Room 234 House of Sport (Royalty Center)
Saturday, April 18 11:00am to 1:00pm. Room 234 House of Sport (Royalty Center)
Online registration will be available starting early April.

Ski Club:
As it is the schools last ski trip we will go regardless of the weather. Please plan appropriately.

Band:
All early morning band rehearsals are cancelled for this week. Rehearsals will resume when we return from March Break.

Badminton Try Out Schedule For Week:

Tuesday:
Bantam Boys. A list of returning bantam boys who are asked to attend this try out will be posted outside the gym doors. All other grade 7 & 8 boys who missed the first try out are asked to sign up with Mr. Harkness today.

Wednesday:
Intermediate Boys and Girls. All those who attended the first try out and all new grade 9 players are asked to sign up with Mrs. Steele.

Thursday:
All Bantam Girls are asked to attend.

Stonepark Girls Spring Volleyball Club:
The Stonepark Girls Club will be starting March 23rd .
Monday & Thursday – skill development – 5:00 pm – 6:45
Wednesday – Scrimmage – 5:00 – 7:00 pm – Enter by the side gym door
All girls going to attend Stonepark are encouraged to participate – coached by
Larry Young and Assistants.
NO Charge or registration required.
