Chicken Burger & Wedges
Tomorrow (Thursday) is October 31st and therefore, Halloween. Several people have been asking about costumes. If you are the type to get in the spirit of Halloween, sure you can dress up. There are, however, to be no face masks or weapons, or replicas of weapons. Also, remember that it could get very warm with a costume on so think of that prior to choosing your costume. For those who want to just be a part of the day, you can dress up in orange and black if you wish! Whatever you choose, we’re sure it will be a spook-tacular day!
Lego Club will meet today in Mrs. Richards’ room (301, upstairs in House 9). All are welcome. Feel free to bring your lunch!
There is a yearbook meeting scheduled for today after school until 430 in the library.
Would members of the school newspaper team meet in the Multi-purpose room at lunch time today. This is to assemble and sort the newspapers which will then be delivered to classrooms during reading period. Please bring your lunch.
Put November 12th on your calendar for our Indigo Fundraiser! Help us stock our library shelves with the books you love to read! We have a new, student-led club starting up; the Presentation Club, which will be for people that struggle doing presentations. Look for their table on Wednesdays in the library.
Boys AA Volleyball:
The AA boys volleyball team, despite their best efforts last night, lost three straight sets to SIS. The boys stayed upbeat throughout but couldn’t overcome a strong SIS team. Since this marks the end of our season, we would like to say a big thank you to
everyone who came out to cheer us on this year. We would also like to wish all Stonepark teams going into provincials the very best of luck. Finally, a big shout out to the girls AA soccer team who, after taking down the top-seeded Hernewood team on their own turf, showed their Tiger Stripes by stopping in to Summerside on their way home last night to cheer us on. GO TIGERS!
Stonepark Girls volleyball team are returning to the Provincial Championships being held this weekend at East Wiltshire. To get to the Provincials the girls defeated a very strong Birchwood team – 3 games to 0.
Score were: 25 – 17
25 – 23
Congratulations girls and good luck going for your sixth gold medal in a row.
Girls AA Soccer:
Our Girls AA Soccer team played a nail-biting game against first place Hernewood Intermediate yesterday. During the game, we had two great goals scored by Carly McCarron and Samantha Wood. The game ended in a tie after regular time, with the same score after overtime. Maddie Cormier was very confident and solid in the net and was able to hold off Hernewood during the shootout. Our penalty shot takers of Kali MacDonald, Kennedy Casford, Sophie Gallant and Emma Matheson were able to put enough goals in the net to secure the win for the tigers! A great game was played by all girls and your coaches are so proud!! We are headed to the gold medal game on Saturday at 12:30 at the Terry Fox turf in Cornwall. Girls, please note that practice for this week has been changed to FRIDAY from 3:15-4:15 INSTEAD of TODAY. There will be NO PRACTICE TODAY.”
