Girls AA Soccer:
1)  “The Girls AA Soccer team won a well-earned 1-0 game against Birchwood last night. The girls played the game from start to finish with the confidence, organization and skill that they needed to pull off a win. Maddie Cormier was rock solid in the net and finished the game with a shut out! Our grade 7 striker duo of Kali MacDonald and Sophie Gallant were able to put us on the score board early, after a nice pass from Kali sent Sophie on a breakaway to score our only goal. Our entire team played phenomenally well and impressed both coaches beyond belief. We are extremely proud of our tigers and can’t wait to see how well they do in semi-finals and provincials next week. We will practice on Monday from 3-4:30 to prepare for our semi-final game on Tuesday at Hernewood.”

2)  Girls AA Soccer will have a quick meeting in Mr. Bradley’s room at morning break.

Boys AA Soccer:
The AA boys soccer team is off to the semi finals after a hard fought win vs Birchwood yesterday.  In a tight defensive battle, the Tigers controlled much of the play throughout the match until Birchwood scored with 3 minute left to play to take a 1 -0 lead.  The next few minutes were frantic as the Tigers pressed to score a tying goal.  Finally with seconds to play in the game Chase Bell finished a beautiful volley to send the game to overtime.  It took penalty kicks to decide the match where Chase Bell, Parker Aitkens and Izi Hatungimana scored for Stonepark.  Sean Rooney came up big stopping a penalty to help seal the win.

Boys A Soccer:
The A boys soccer team lost 2-0 in a hard fought battle to Birchwood Thursday.  Nick Blanchard was the player of the game for your Tigers.  Coaches Dunn and MacSwain want to congratulate all players on a great season.  Please return washed uniforms to Ms. Steele as soon as possible.
