Friday – Day 5

Cafeteria:
Burger & Fries or Chicken Nuggets & Fries – $5.50

Science Fair:
“Science Fair time is here again! There will be a meeting for all interested students in Mrs Stultz’s class (in house 8) today at 12:30.”

Coding Club:
The coding club will meet today at 12:20 in Mrs. Reynard’s room.

 Tutoring:
     Just an FYI – On Thursdays, the after-school tutoring program will (by Charlottetown Rural students) extend extra help in all subjects, not just math as it originally was intended for. We have many tutors in French Immersion and who have expertise multiple subjects, therefore we will open up the program to all courses instead of just math.

Battery Recycle Week:
This is an initiative of the Green Team. During the week of Jan 14th – 18th, students, staff, parents, and community members are encouraged to bring in old batteries to be sorted and recycled.

Indoor Field Hockey:
Any girls in grades 7-9 who are interested in playing in an indoor field hockey league are asked to see Mrs. Steele.  No experience necessary. There will be a skills part and scrimmage.

Girls AA Basketball:
It was a two win week for the girls AA basketball team this week, picking up victories in both games they played.
On Tuesday, Sydney Lawlor scored 19 points to lead the Tigers to a 72-26 win over Queen Charlotte.  Abby MacDonald, Ava Sinnott and Katie Vidito each scored 10, Dara McCabe had 8, and Lydia Doyle had 6.
Last night the Tigers were led by Abby MacDonald with 14 points in their 69-26 win over Birchwood.  Sydney Lawlor had 13, Cassidy Hurley 10, Katie Vidito and Dara McCabe 9 each.
The girls play two exhibition games this weekend in Summerside on Saturday.

Boys AA Basketball:
The boys played strong game versus Birchwood and were up 13-12 after 1 and lead 25-17 at the half …. they played a strong second half at both ends of the court and lead 42-27 after 3rd and finished off with a 57 – 45 win ….. scoring for the team were Kalon MacDonald-Wood 29 points, Owen Headley 10 points, Willis Bulger 5 points,Noah Stanley 4 points, Kallen Power 3 points and RJ Acorn, Jacob Bearisto and Adrian Meiji each with 2 points  ….. the boys play in the East Wiltshire Tournament this weekend
