Stonepark Ski Club:
Is ready to go for the 2019 season. Any interested students please attend the meeting at reading period today (Thursday) in the Gymnasium. 1:00 sharp.
On Thursdays, the after-school tutoring program will (by Charlottetown Rural students) extend extra help in all subjects, not just math as it originally was intended for. We have many tutors in French Immersion and who have expertise multiple subjects, therefore we will open up the program to all courses instead of just math.
There will be a needlecraft class today at 12:15 in Ms. Dockendorff’s room, please be on time. Take your lunch as well if you like.
Grade 9 students participating in Pascal math will have a practice session today, Day 4, during Period 1 in the cafeteria. Please check with your first period teacher. Students who did not attend the first session are still welcome, but need the OK from your math teacher.
There will be extra help given today in Industrial Arts (both sides) at 12:15 – please be on time and as well, take your lunch with you.
Battery Recycle Week:
This is an initiative of the Green Team. During the week of Jan 14th – 18th, students, staff, parents, and community members are encouraged to bring in old batteries to be sorted and recycled.
Indoor Field Hockey:
Any girls in grades 7-9 who are interested in playing in an indoor field hockey league are asked to see Mrs. Steele. No experience necessary. There will be a skills part and scrimmage.
Boys AA Basketball:
The boys got off to a slow start versus Queen Charlotte and were down early but fought back and were only down 26 – 24 at the half and were up 34 – 30 after 3 … both teams played a great 4th quarter and the game was tied at 52 after regulation to send the game into overtime …. in the 5 minute overtime Stonepark outscored QC 13 to 5 to finish off a 65 – 57 win … the team was lead by Kalon MacDonld-Wood with 38 points, Owen Headley 16 points, Kallen Power and Willis Bulger with 5 points each and RJ Acorn with 1 point
