Ugly (Awesome) Christmas Sweater Day:
On Tuesday Dec 18th, students and staff are asked to wear their favorite Christmas Sweater -either ugly or awesome – and donate $1 to needy families. We thank you in advance for your support!

Stonepark Newspaper:
Will meet today at 12:15. Please bring your lunch. Today is print day!!!

Stonepark’s Got Talent:
Reminder that we will have a Stonepark’s Got Talent rehearsal after school on Tuesday from 3:00 until 4:00.  Also if you are interested in being the MC usually a group of 2 for the talent show please see Mrs. Smith in the learning center.

A huge congratulations and thank you is extended to all of the students who participated in the Christmas concert last Thursday evening. It was a wonderful evening of music, and a great demonstration of the talent and dedication of our music students. Thank you as well to all of the staff members who helped out before and during the concert.

Thanks to the generosity of those in attendance, we were also able to donate funds to
help support families in our community during the Christmas season.

All extra-curricular band activities (with the exception of grade 9 Honours Band) are now finished until after the Christmas break.

Pascal Math:
Students who have been chosen to participate in the grade 9 Pascal math contest will have their first session tomorrow morning during Period 1.  Please bring some paper and a pencil, and meet Mr. Rooney in the cafeteria.

Junior Youth Winter Camp:
Junior Youth Moral Empowerment Programme is holding camps through arts workshops, stories with moral concepts, service projects to help the community and sports using a moral and social justice framework. The camp will be held on December 27th – 31st at 20 Lapthorne Ave – Bahai Centre from 10am – 4:00 pm. The camp is open to students ages 11 – 15. Activities include: Games, group discussions, Art workshops (music, drama, painting), service projects, sports.

Cost : $20 (for materials and snacks) Scholarship available as needed

Girls AA Basketball:
Over the weekend the AA girls basketball team went 4 and 0, on their way to winning the Queen Charlotte Christmas Invitational. On Friday, the girls defeated both Birchwood and Summerside in games played at Stonepark.  Then on Saturday played back to back, beating Queen Charlotte in the semi final and then beating Summerside again to pick up the win for the championship.  It was an excellent weekend for all the girls, with everyone making contributions to the wins.

Boys AA Basketball:
Congratulations to the AA Boys that went undefeated over the weekend to win the Queen Charlotte Christmas Tournament .. In their first game against East Wiltshire it was a 46-42 win with Anthony MacDonald being named Player of the Game … their next game was a back and forth game versus Athena that they won 63-61 with a basket with 3 seconds left in the game ….top scorers were Kalon MacDonald-Wood 37 points, Willis Bulger 14 points, and Kallen  Power and Owen Headley with 5 points each …Player of the Game was Kalon MacDonald-Wood …..In the crossover game against Summerside it was a close game defensive game that they won 34-32 … top scorers were Kalon MacDonald-Wood with 13 points, Kallen Power 9 points and Owen Headley had 7 points … Player of the Game was Kallen Power …. In the Championship game it was a rematch versus Athena ….the boys jumped out to a 23-10 lead after 1 quarter and were up 35-22 at the half …with a strong 3rd quarter they opened a 20 point lead at 53-33 and finished with a 62-49 win …. top scorers were Kalon MacDonald-Wood and Owen Headley with 19 points and Willis Bulger with 14 points ….. Player of the Game was Owen Headley
