who are new to the band program are asked to come to the band room today (Wed.)
from 12:35-1:15 for lessons.
Grade 9 early am band will be held tomorrow as usual. A reminder that band
students should be arriving at Stonepark at 7:35 on early morning band days and they
should be dropped off at the back entrance to the school.  Students should take their

students to return to lockers following early morning band practices.
All band students are reminded that instruments kept in the band area must be labeled
with their name and class.  Instruments that do not have names on them will be
reassigned to new students.
Any student who has not yet received a band book should see Mrs. Peters today.

Yearbook Committee:
There is an important meeting for yearbook members tomorrow @ 12:25 pm in Mr. Beaton’s room. Anyone interested in being involved in this year’s yearbook committee, come on down.

Expression Group:
Please note – the group will not meet today (Wednesday) – the Expression Group only meets on Tuesday afternoon from 3:15 pm – 5:00 pm.

Duke of Edinburgh:
The Duke of Edinburgh practice journey will take place today at Brackley Commons from 5:00-6:30. Please be there on time and arrange for a drive home. Listen to the announcements for a possible date change due to the weather.

Needlecraft Club:
Needlecraft Club will be returning to Stonepark every Day 4 at lunch time, starting next Thursday, Sept. 27th. If you would like to learn how to cross-stitch and make an ornament, take a look at the library window.  Sign up if you’re interested in joining or just finding out more about this hobby.

Terry Fox Run:
Our Annual Terry Fox Run will take place Thursday, September 27th in the afternoon. We will start in the gym (after reading period) with our usual Pep Rally highlighting SP sports teams then proceed to the bowl where students will run/walk until the end of the day. Terry’s goal was to raise one dollar per Canadian citizen and he exceeded that goal. We are hoping to raise one dollar per person in this school and just a little bit more for a goal of $1000.

Like last year, we will be asking students and adults for donations – for every dollar you give, you will receive a ballot (if you give $1, you get one ballot; if you give $5, you will get 5 ballots, etc…) that will go in for a draw. There are 4 Terry Fox T-Shirts that we will draw for at the Pep Rally before the walk. Your teacher will have the ballots available later today – they will be blue and stamped with “Stonepark Gives Back”. We will also be collecting loose/spare change – in the Spare-Change Mobile over the lunch hour. Finally, we hope to do an ice-cream sale at break sometime between now and next Wednesday. (Repeat daily.)

Soccer Teams Uniforms:
Would members of the boys and girls AA soccer teams come to the gym at morning break to pick up school uniforms.

Girls Field Hockey:
The girls field hockey team defeated Birchwood 4-0 in their season opener. Livi Lawlor led the squad with 2 goals, Molly Doyle with one and rookie Abby Larkin had one. Laney McGonnell has a shutout in her net debut. The girls travel to Montague today for a 4:30 game.
Reminder to all school athletes to pay your Athletics Fee. 20$ for a team sport, 30$ for a family of 2 or more and 5$ for cross country. Athletic fees help cover the cost of travel, officials and gear. This can be paid at the main office or through the “hot lunches” option on our school website.
