Tuesday – Day 3

Cafeteria:
Chicken Taco, served with rice & veggies, and small milk = $5.50

Expression Group:
Expression Group is restarting at Stonepark, and focusing on empowering youth – through using different forms of arts (drama, music, painting), discussing stories with morals and planning projects to help others in the community while playing sports and games.
Time: 3:10pm today (and every Tuesday) in multipurpose room. Sign up in Office.

Needlecraft Club:
Needlecraft Club will be returning to Stonepark every Day 4 at lunch time, starting next Thursday, Sept. 27th. If you would like to learn how to cross-stitch and make an ornament, take a look at the library window.  Sign up if you’re interested in joining or just finding out more about this hobby.

Band:
Grade 7 band students who did not attend band camp and students in grade 8 and 9 who are new to the band program are asked to come to the band room tomorrow (Wed.) from 12:35-1:15 for lessons.

The first grade 8 early am band rehearsal will be held tomorrow (Wed.).  Students should arrive at Stonepark at 7:35 and should be dropped off at the back entrance to the school.  Students should take their books for periods 1 and 2 to the band room.  There should be no need for students to return to lockers following early morning band practices.

Students are reminded that instruments kept in the band area must be labeled with their name and class.  Instruments that do not have names on them will be reassigned to new students.

Terry Fox Run:
Our Annual Terry Fox Run will take place Thursday, September 27th in the afternoon. We will start in the gym (after reading period) with our usual Pep Rally highlighting SP sports teams then proceed to the bowl where students will run/walk until the end of the day. Terry’s goal was to raise one dollar per Canadian citizen and he exceeded that goal. We are hoping to raise one dollar per person in this school and just a little bit more for a goal of $1000.
Like last year, we will be asking students and adults for donations – for every dollar you give, you will receive a ballot (if you give $1, you get one ballot; if you give $5, you will get 5 ballots, etc…) that will go in for a draw. There are 4 Terry Fox T-Shirts that we will draw for at the Pep Rally before the walk. Your teacher will have the ballots available later today – they will be blue and stamped with “Stonepark Gives Back”. We will also be collecting loose/spare change – in the Spare-Change Mobile over the lunch hour. Finally, we hope to do an ice-cream sale at break sometime between now and next Wednesday. (Repeat daily.)

Boys Volleyball:
Today, (Tuesday, Sept 18th) will be the last day for Boys Volleyball tryouts. Tryouts will be from 5;30 to 7;00.
