Stonepark AA Boys Basketball:
The Stonepark AA boys were down another player and still played a good game against East Wiltshir, however with only 8 players they came up a little short 59-44… the top scorers were: Kalon MacDonald-Wood with 14 points …. Aiden Mass with 10 points and Kallen Power with 8 points .. other scorers were Willis Bulger 6 Garrett Allen 4 and Gabe Trainor 2
Boys A Basketball:
The Stonepark Tigers Boys A Basketball Team travelled to Hernewood Intermediate on Saturday to play games vs Miscouche Consolidated and Oxford Regional. In the first game versus the previously undefeated West Division leading Miscouche A Boys team, our Tigers were up 31-15 at half time, increased their lead to 50-21 after the 3rd quarter and won by a final score of 58-31. Scorers for Stonepark were Tate Brazil (15 points), Isaac Hughes (14 points), Tyler Kennedy (12 points), David Drake (8 points), Owen Sproul (5 points), Ben Young and Abdi Mohamud (2 points each). Top 3 Rebounders – Isaac Hughes (15 rebounds), Tate Brazil (9 rebounds) and Abdi Mohamud (8 rebounds). In the 2nd game versus the Oxford Regional Education Centre Golden Bears, our Tigers were down 18-11 after the first quarter and battled back to in the 2nd quarter and were down by 1 point at 25-24. In the 2nd half, we outscored our opponent 31-21 to win by a final score of 55-46. Scoring for Stonepark were Tate Brazil (double-double with a season high 24 points and 10 rebounds), Isaac Hughes (double-double with 17 points and an incredible 25 rebounds), Owen Sproul (8 points), David Drake and Tyler Kennedy (3 points each). Our next practice is Wednesday evening and playoffs will start in a couple of weeks. To our players heading on the French trip – enjoy your trip!
Girls AA Basketball:
The AA girls basketball improved their league record to 7-0 over the weekend as they defeated East Wiltshire 47-26 on Saturday. Sydney Lawlor scored 13 points, Abby MacDonald had 9, Emma Stanley and Dara McCabe had 6 each, and Ava Sinnott with 5. Abby MacDonald grabbed 10 rebounds, and Katie Vidito had 6. The team has a 19-3 overall record and has one league game remaining, with playoffs at the end of the month.
