It is so nice to be working with the students in person once again! The staff list has been updated for the school year. We are in the process of updating the website and many of the teachers have adopted Google sites to share information. The links for these are located on the home page. Some teachers are using Class Dojo, so make sure you check with your child’s teacher to see which form of communication they are using.
It’s hard to believe that a month of the school year has already gone by! The school handbook has been posted along with the newsletter for the month of October.
The September newsletter is up. Parkdale is now a peanut-free school for the 2019-2020 school year. The notice has been posted under “Parents and School Goals”. Don’t forget about “Meet the Teacher Night” this Thursday, September 12th @ 6 PM.

It’s hard to believe that we are already through our first full week of classes here at Parkdale! It has been terrific seeing some familiar faces and welcoming newcomers, with regards to both students and staff. Don’t forget about “Meet the Teacher” night this Thursday, September 13th beginning at 6 pm. The September newsletter has also been posted. We are looking forward to a terrific school year!
It’s hard to believe, but the final newsletter of the year has been posted. Among the highlights for the final month of the school year are: year-end field trips for all grades (June 19 – rain date June 20), Home and School natural playscape construction (June 16), Parkdale grade 6 fun day (June 22), School-wide fun day (June 25), and the grade 6 closing (June 26 – 5 PM).
The May newsletter has now been posted. Just a few dates to keep in mind. Our “Welcome to Kindergarten” evening is set for May 10th at 6 PM. The Stonepark orientation for grade 6 students will be Friday, May 18th in the afternoon. Any grade 6 students going to Birchwood will have to attend a morning session on that same day. There are no classes on Monday, May 21st as it is Victoria Day, and there is a Home and School meeting on Tuesday, May 29th at 6:30 PM.
The April newsletter has now been uploaded, and it is a busy month at the school. There is a home and school meeting this month, and it is being held on Tuesday, April 24th beginning at 6:30 pm. The theme this month is “Movie Night” so feel free to take your child along as you attend the meeting. There is also a document uploaded under “Home and School” for parents to check out.
There will be a pancake breakfast held at the school on Friday, April 27th, and spring photos will be held on Monday, April 30th. Just a reminder that there is no school this coming Friday, April 13th as this is a professional development day for teaching staff.
The March newsletter has now been posted. Just a reminder that there are no classes this coming Tuesday, March 6th due to a professional development day for teachers. March Break is the week of March 26th – March 30th and there will be no classes. Classes will resume after the break on Wednesday, April 4th.
Welcome back! The January newsletter has been posted. After some stormy weather and unexpected closures, we are all set to get back into a routine. Please ensure your child is dressed for the weather the season brings. If they wish to play in the snow, they must have snow pants, boots and mittens/gloves.
Looking ahead, the Game Force video gaming program is being made available to grade 5/6 this month on a “first come, first serve” basis. There is a home and school meeting on Tuesday, January 30th at 6:30 pm and there are no classes on Wednesday, January 31st as it is a professional development day for teachers. Also, Ms. Gallant has launched a grade 3/4 blog so check out the link under “Virtual Classrooms, Search Engines and Student Links”.
