Just a reminder that school picture day is October 23rd, and there is a home and school meeting on October 24th beginning at 6:30 PM.
The school handbook has just been posted under “School Handbook & Calendar”.
Next week is the annual PEI Teachers’ Federation and Canadian Union of Public Employees Annual Convention. It is held on October 19th and 20th, so there will be no classes on those days next week.
The October newsletter has now been posted. Just a reminder that there is no school Friday, October 6th as it is a professional development day for teachers. Also, Monday October 9th is Thanksgiving and there are no classes on that day either.
We will be having our Terry Fox Run tomorrow at the school just before lunch. Children are encouraged to make a donation of a loonie as Terry’s dream was to receive a dollar from every Canadian during his Marathon of Hope.
We are off and running here at Parkdale midway through the first full week of school. Just a few items to make note of:
Intramurals – Girls Grades 3-6
French Club – none
Choir – none
Lunch – Chicken poppers today – Subway forms must be filled out for tomorrow delivery and pizza orders due tomorrow
Outside – It will be an inside recess with the wind chill – first recess – K and 1/2 in the gym
Cooke Dough Fundraiser – ends in one week
The February newsletter has now been posted. Also, under the “Home and School” tab there is a February update from the president of the PEI Home and School Federation. Please note that there are no classes on Friday, February 10th as it is a PD day for teachers. On Monday, February 20th, it is Islander Day so will be no classes for students.

Welcome back to another exciting year of learning at Parkdale! We hope your children are have a terrific first week of school. The September newsletter has been posted, and “Meet the Teacher” night will be held next Wednesday, September 14th at 6 PM. Also, under the “Parent” tab, a document has been posted on the food that will be offered at the school in the canteen and for special order lunch days ,so check it out.
The May newsletter has now been posted. Also, just a reminder there is no school this Friday, May 6th due to the Area Association Meeting/ CUPE 3260 Annual Meeting. There will be no classes on Monday, May 23 as it is Victoria Day.
For grade 6 students that will be attending Birchwood Intermediate School in the fall, there is a parent information meeting at the Birchwood on Thursday, May 12th from 7-8 PM. The students will then visit the school for an orientation session Friday morning, May 13th.
