We have a busy week coming up. Here are some notes for parents:
- Our Greenfield Breakfast Program begins on Monday. Breakfast items will be coming to classrooms. Volunteers are still needed if any parents can help out with this program. Contact Kim Gaudet at 902-303-9569 or at email@example.com.
- The HotLunches menu for October is now open for ordering. This menu covers the weeks from Monday, October 5th to Friday,October 30th. Milk can be ordered from the School Milk Program. There will now be a Pizza Day on Wednesdays from Domino’s. You can order a slice of cheese pizza or garlic fingers for $1.50 each. Ordering closes on Sunday, October 4th at midnight. Further reminders will be sent!
- Orange Shirt Day is on Wednesday, September 30th. This special day raises awareness of residential schools and the importance of recognition and resilience. This date was chosen as it was at this time of year that Indigenous children were taken from their homes to reside in residential schools. On Orange Shirt Day, we recognize that all children matter. As well, it is an opportunity to learn and celebrate Indigenous ways of being.
- Wednesday, September 30 is also the day of the annual Terry Fox Run. Classes will not be going to the trail as in other years but will do a “Terry Fox Run” with their class on the school property. If they wish, students can bring in a donation to the Terry Fox Foundation which supports cancer research.
Thank you to all our families for your support. Have a great weekend!
