Monday January 22 will be the first meeting of Georgetown School’s French Club. Interested students from Grades 4-8 are invited to meet in Ms. Gullander-Drolet’s class for some fun french programming. French Club will meet from 3:10-4:00.

Kindergarten 2018 Registration

Registration is still open for all families with young children planning on attending Kindergarten in September of 2018!

Parents are urged to register their children for Kindergarten as soon as possible.  It is important that schools have your child’s registration information in order to contact you regarding the upcoming Welcome to Kindergarten Program and to plan for September 2018 classes.

Where do you register: Local school that your child is zoned to attend?

 What you need:

For proof of child’s age provide:

(i)    Birth Certificate

(ii)   PEI Health Card

For proof of home address provide:

(i)       Verification of home address (copy of utility bill, etc.)

 

Age requirement:  Child must be 5 years old by December 31, 2018

HORNET PICK OF THE WEEK

Congratulations going out to our lucky winner Lily Ashford in Ms. Scully’s grade 1/2/3 class for the week of January 19th. Great job Lily on being a thoughtful and very welcoming and caring student to everyone you encounter at Georgetown School.
Lily is the winner of a free pizza lunch on January 25, 2018 and has her picture posted on our Hornet Pick of the Week Wall of Fame in our lobby. Great Job Lily!

 

Pizza Thursday

Pizza Day Thursday January 25th. Large slices from AJ’s Pizza in Montague are on the menu. $2.00 a slice, and our selections for this upcoming pizza day will be:

  • Cheese
  • Bacon and Pepperoni
  • Vegetarian

Pizza orders will be organized by Mr. Power and the grade 4/5/6 class.  Please have money in to homeroom teachers or your 4/5/6 representative Wednesday or earlier of next  week.

 

 

Triple P Parenting

Hi All, Just wanted to let you know that the Student Well-being Team will be offering Triple P Parenting sessions in partnership with our local family resource centre.  Sessions will be held at Families First Resource Center, Brooke Street, Montague and are open to all parents/guardians of children 0-12 years of age. Childcare will be provided. Parents can register for one or as many sessions as they are interested in attending by calling Families First at 838-4600 or signing up through their Facebook page.

Guitar Club Jam Session Cancelled for January 17th

In light of the forecast and expected weather and travel conditions throughout the province, all after school student related activities are cancelled for today.

This will mean that Guitar will be cancelled for today, January 17th, for students at Georgetown School. School will remain open for the remainder of this snowy day.

 

New Volunteers Added to the GES Team

Georgetown School would like to welcome some returning Breakfast Club Volunteers to our fantastic team. MaryLou Walsh is a returning volunteer who will be working on Tuesdays with Amil Zavo, and on Fridays we have a new face, Amy Gotell,  joining our team. 

So great to have this very important club running so smoothly.

Milk Added to Breakfast Club Offerings

In an effort to offer appealing choices for children and keep those options as healthy as possible, we now have milk available in the morning at Breakfast Club for all students that attend.

The menu varies from morning to morning but includes whole wheat or everything bagels and english muffins. Toppings include cream cheese, jam, butter & wow butter.  There is a variety of cold and hot cereals everyday as well as blueberry banana smoothies, orange and apple juice, bananas, apples, oranges, pancakes, cheese and yogurt.

Breakfast Club Program runs from 8:40-9:00 every day of the week(starting January 22). Thanks to our volunteers who are here everyday to make this program a success.
