Day One Went Well!

We had a great start to the 2020-2021 school year. There was a higher than expected number of parents picking up students at the end of the day. As a staff we discussed the situation and we have a suggestion as to how we can make it better.

There is a new driveway opposite the church (on the Charlottetown side of the school parking lot). The driveway does allow drivers to access our school parking lot. Originally, the department of transportation had a left-turning lane painted on the highway leading to the driveway, however they painted in the left-turning lane with yellow lines.

Parents picking up students after school (2:50-3:05) are asked to use this driveway in an attempt to keep people from having to wait on the side of the highway.

PLEASE DO NOT USE THE REGULAR ENTRANCE BETWEEN 2:50-3:05 AS WE WANT ALL VEHICLES TO ACCESS THE NEW DRIVEWAY AND AVOID CONGESTION.

This new entrance will be used only for pick up at the end of the day between 2:50-3:05.

For all other visits please use our regular entrance and park your vehicles in the parking spots.

Grade 7-9 students will be waiting at the set of doors just outside the main office (doors nearest to Charlottetown)

Grade 4-6 students will be waiting at the opposite end of the school (area nearest to Crapaud)

Grade K-3 students will be waiting at the center doors.

We ask that you be as efficient as possible in collecting your child(ren) as to keep the line of traffic moving.

With regard to bus pick up in the morning, we are asking everyone to be at your morning pick up location at the same time as you did today (or a few minutes earlier just to be safe.)

We, the staff at Englewood, would like to thank everyone for their patience as we navigate our way through this unique school year.  The students were absolutely fantastic today and we have every reason to believe there will be many fantastic days ahead.

Take care and continue to follow the guidelines suggested by the people at the Chief Public Health Office.

Mr Reardon
