Orange Shirt Day- Oct 12

Hello Parents/Guardians,

We will be participating in Orange Shirt Day on Friday, October 12th.  Some schools participated on Sept 28th but we had a PD Day that day and then this past Friday we had our Thanksgiving assembly so we thought this Friday would work.  Teachers will speak about Orange Shirt Day to students in their class at a level appropraite for their age level.  Below is information that was sent as part of Orange Shirt Day.

Orange Shirt Day

September 30 is Orange Shirt Day, an opportunity for us all to come together in the spirit of reconciliation and hope for future generations. It is a day that raises awareness of the history of residential schools for Indigenous peoples and that honours the thousands of survivors of residential schools. The Aboriginal Affairs Secretariat encourages all PSB students and staff to take part in and wear an orange shirt on September 28.
