Vaccinations and Consent

The message below has been approved by the Public Schools Branch, the Department of Health and Wellness and the Chief Public Health Office.

This is a reminder to please complete and return your student’s consent form for the COVID-19 vaccine as soon as possible. Public Health Nursing have begun the school vaccine program for grades 7, 8 and 9 and will be visiting schools throughout the next three weeks.

On the consent form you are asked to check one of two boxes, either “yes, I do consent” or “no, I do not consent” to the student named on the form receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. If the student does not have a consent form indicating that their parent or guardian has checked the box to consent to the vaccination, they will not be able to receive the vaccine in the school setting. Additionally, if the student has consent but at the time of immunization is refusing to get the vaccine, the student will not be immunized and the parent/guardian will be notified. Public Health Nurses are highly skilled health care providers with in-depth training and knowledge of vaccines and take great care in providing a safe environment for students, as well as school staff and families throughout the school-based immunization programs.

Kind Regards,

Hennessey Cutcliff Funeral Home

Parents – please refrain from using the Hennessey Cutcliff Funeral Home in the am and pm. We have been getting many reports from the owners that this is interferring with their business. We have a made up a plan for parents to drop off students accessing Birchwood Street by coming up Lapthorne that we would ask you to use, regardless of the delay.   Parents should not be cutting through the front staff parking lot nor using the funeral home ( main or side parking lot) to drop off or wait for their children.
We are also having some issues with students on the property at lunch and after school.  We continue to educate our students that a funeral home serves a population of people who are in a state of grieving and they need to respect this. We would appreciate your support in this matter.
Thank You
