Friday, Jan. 31, 2020 – Day 5

Birchwood Reading Initiative:

  • Starting Monday, Birchwood will have silent reading during homeroom period, 8:45 – 8:55. All students are asked to bring in their own reading material.

Outdoor Adventure:

  • The outdoor adventure club will meet in Mr. Dohoo’s room 237 at 12:05 to discuss next week’s downhill skiing trip. Please do not be late, the meeting will end at 12:15 sharp. New members are always welcome.

Duke of Edinburgh:

  • Ms Dunn will offer help with the online record book  to Duke students Monday to Thursday of next week in her room, room 202. Please come in a small group with a chromebook. 

Band:

  • New skills are in Google Classroom and on the white board in the band room.  These are due next Friday.

Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2020 – Day 4

Heritage Fair:

  • Anyone interested in participating in this year’s Heritage Fair should see Mrs. Breedon in room 313 at break today.

Dancehall:

  • Dancehall with Ms Edison after school today.

Wrestling

  • Practice today at 3pm.

Basketball

  • AA girls will be playing at 3:30 today. Please allow these students to dismiss at 2:45.

Grade 7 Hockey Academy

  • Please allow students to dismiss at 1:40.

Band

  • Grade 7 band will meet today during lunch.

Monday, Jan. 27, 2020 – Day 2

Yearbook:

  • Yearbook meeting today in Mr. Vaive’s room.

Band

  • Grade 9 band students will meet for rehearsal tomorrow morning at 7:45am.

Welcome:

  • Welcome to Tom Hilton, the Education Officer with the PEI Human Rights Commission, who is at Birchwood to present to all of Ms. Squire’s LA classes about the PEI Human Rights Act.  Welcome Tom and enjoy your day. 

Noon Time Computer:

  • Computers are in room 304 at lunch today

Dancehall:

  • Dancehall with Ms Edison in room 304 at LUNCH Tuesday for those who would like to try and have not been able to attend after school, and will also be AFTER SCHOOL on Wednesday

Wrestling

  • 3pm today
  • Congrats to Lucas Macdonald who won a silver medal at the Eastern Canadians on Saturday at UNB.

Songwriting Club:

  • Today at lunchtime in Mr. MacKay’s room. New members always welcome.

Friday, Jan. 24, 2020 – Day 1

Band:

  • Charlotte Russell, Emma Richards, Malcolm Orford, Christopher Chisholm, Jack Hicks, Sarah Goodwin please see Mr. Langille in the band room right after announcements with your teachers’ permission

  • AA Girls will be dismissed at 1:30 to go to their game at East Wiltshire.

Code & Maker Club:

  • Code & Maker Club in Ms. Squire’s room 221 after school today from 3:00 – 4:30pm.
