  • Picture day is finishing up today,  Sept. 21.
  • Birchwood Home & School meeting, Wednesday, Sept. 26, 6:30.
  • Birchwood Terry Fox run & Orange Shirt Day, Thursday, Sept. 27.

Orange Shirt Day: 

  • Sept. 27 is Orange Shirt Day, an opportunity for us all to come together in the spirit of reconciliation and hope for future generations. It is a day that raises awareness of the history of residential schools for the Indigenous peoples and honours the thousands of survivors of residential schools. We encourage all students and staff to wear an orange shirt on this day.

Future Goals:

  • The Future Goals program will begin Monday Sept 24, right after school in room 311.

Grade 9 Trip:

  • Please see Mme. Connolly, in room 309, for Vesey’s Bulb fundraiser. Today during Break.

Library:

  • Persuasive Writing Contest! Develop a persuasive piece of writing explaining why our new OFFLINE ROOM will benefit students here at Birchwood. Submit your writing to smgairns@cloud.edu.pe.ca for a chance to win an exciting prize.

AA Girls’

  • Soccer: Practice today 3-3:45

Baseball:  

  • Boys Baseball team is asked to meet in Mr. Daley’s room this morning at break.

Golf:

  • There will be a meeting Monday at break.

Hockey Academy:

  • Today during 10th period there will be an important meeting for all grade 7,8,9 students participating in hockey academy. Please attend.

Outdoor Adventure Club:

  • Any students with permission sheets or questions about the outdoor adventure club are asked to see Mr. Dohoo in room 225 today at break or at the beginning of lunch.

Terry Fox Run:

  • Terry Fox Run will take place next Thurs. Sept. 27.  Birchwood has always been a huge supporter for the run for the cure.  Today students will be called to their home rooms at 255 to pick up their pledge sheets from their homeroom teachers.  Top 3 fundraisers will receive awesome gift cards to local restaurants!!! Pledges are due back next Thursday.
