Sports:

  • Intramurals: Badminton
  • Boys Basketball practice today at 4:00 – 5:15.
  • Girls basketball team will hold their final practice today, Thursday, from 3:00 – 4:00 followed by a team pizza party.

Miscellaneous:

  • Tonight is the Birchwood Valentine’s Day Dance from 7:00-9:00 in the school cafeteria. Admission is $5.00. Snacks will also be available for purchase.
  • Today is also Pink, red & white day. Students and staff are encouraged to to wear these colors.
  • Student council will be selling Valentine’s & chocolates up to the dance.
  • The library will be open every Wednesday from 2:45 – 3:45 for students to do homework or work on projects.
  • To promote Pink Shirt Day, Feb 24, Birchwood is planning to have a Pink T-Shirt design challenge.  Each homeroom will create a design/logo for an anti bullying T-shirt and submit them by Feb. 19.  The shirt judged best will win a pizza party.  If a class (or individual) completes their shirt design by Feb. 8, it will be submitted to the Crime Stoppers pink t-shirt contest which is offering a number of great prizes. Each design needs to be represented on pink Bristol board (Available in the guidance area) and handed into Lynn or Michelle by Feb.19 for our school contest and Feb. 8 for Crime Stoppers. Examples of some done last year will be in the front lobby tomorrow.The themes for this year are:

  • Thursday: Sweet & sour meat balls with rice & stir-fry.

Home & School Meeting

Parents please plan to attend our Home and School Meeting on Feb 11th at 7pm. We would invite all parents to attend and look forward to meeting new people. The meeting will take place in our library. We hold our meetings to coincide with our dance. Parents are welcome to remain in the library following the meeting for the dance to end.

  • Both boys & girls basketball teams will play today at home against Stonepark. Boys at 4:00, Girls at 5:30. Come 0ut and support our Cobras as they both play their final regular season game. GO COBRAS!!

  • Student council will be selling Valentine chocolates at break & lunch leading up to the dance. All money raised will be used to pay for a DJ for our dance.
