Sports:

  • Intramurals: Badminton
  • The boys basketball team defeated Gulf Shore yesterday. Top scorers were: Andrew Carmichael, Matt Doyle, & Keagan Carty all with 10 points.
  • The girls basketball team defeated Gulf Shore yesterday. Ruby Sharp, Suado Saleh Yusuf, and Urmila Khanal led the way as the girls moved up in the standings.

Miscellaneous:

  • Grad Pictures will be taken on Wednesday Feb. 3.
  • To promote Pink Shirt Day, Feb 24, Birchwood is planning to have a Pink T-Shirt design challenge.  Each homeroom will create a design/logo for an anti bullying T-shirt and submit them by Feb. 19.  The shirt judged best will win a pizza party.  If a class (or individual) completes their shirt design by Feb. 8, it will be submitted to the Crime Stoppers pink t-shirt contest which is offering a number of great prizes. Each design needs to be represented on pink Bristol board (Available in the guidance area) and handed into Lynn or Michelle by Feb.19 for our school contest and Feb. 8 for Crime Stoppers. Examples of some done last year will be in the front lobby tomorrow.The themes for this year are:KINDNESS, IS ONE SIZE FITS ALLSPEAK UP,  STAND TOGETHER, STOP BULLYING

Sports:

  • Intramurals: Badminton
  • The boys basketball team lost to Montague yesterday 39-37. It was a great game with many lead changes. Keagan Carty and Christian Morrison both had 12 points & Deepan Darjee had an outstanding game at point guard.
  • The girls basketball team lost a close game to Montague last night. Ruby Sharp led the girls while Emma Johnston and Maggie Jamieson chipped in with a few points. Girls practice on Monday at 3:00.

Miscellaneous:

  • Students interested in participating in the Video Game Development Program, it will be held next week, Monday – Friday from 3:00 – 5:00. Students who register must be committed to attending the 5 sessions. See Ms. Squire for details. Only 12 students may attend. There are 5 spots left.

  • Good luck to both Boys & Girls basketball teams as they travel to Montague today after school. Boys will be looking to end Montague’s winning streak; while the girls look to move into the top 4.

Miscellaneous:
