Home and School Luncheon
We will be hosting a Home and School Luncheon for any parent who is interested in discussing upcoming resolutions as a group. Luncheon will take place on Wed, April 1st at Birchwood. Please contact the school by Tuesday if you are interested in attending.
Reminder to parents of grade seven and eight students to complete and return the “Shapes” permission forms that were sent home with your children.

*Teachers will send home appointment times on Monday, March 29th. If you do not get this sheet of paper from your son or daughter, please call or e-mail his or her homeroom teacher. There will be staff from Colonel Gray present to answer questions. Appointment times are expected to run 15 minutes. Students will leave their classes for appointments then return to regular classes. Please ensure that they have completed the orange planning sheet and take it to the appt time.
*Registration for Charlottetown Rural will be determined and parents contacted.
Permission forms have been mailed out. Please read the letter and contact the SHAPES survey number given if you do not want your child to participate. The survey will take place on April 21st.
Intermediate Literary Assessment for Grade Nine Students
The assessment (ILA) will be held over 4 days. It will take approx an hour each day to complete and includes reading passages as well as a writing component. It will be worth 10% of the overall mark for the year. No special study is needed to prepare for the assessment. Parents can help by ensuring their students arrive at school well rested and ready to participate. Please encourage them to do their best. The Assessment will be held April 14 & 15 and the 21 and 22.

2. Feedback about storm closures
Parents, guardians, teachers, administrators and staff who have feedback about storm closures, and about the school calendar in general, are encouraged to contact the PEI Home and School Federation office at: email@example.com. The Federation has a representative on the School Calendar Committee and we can bring your concerns forward to that group.
3. Department of Education and Early Childhood Development
Education and Early Childhood Development has updated high school graduation requirements to
help ensure students are ready to transition to post-secondary education and the labour force.
New graduation requirements will better prepare students for future success

- National Volunteer Week 2015is a time to recognize, celebrate and thank Canada’s volunteers. The week takes place April 12 – 18 and marks the 12th consecutive year for the national campaign.

GRADE TEN REGISTRATION
Please note that the Parent Registration meeting that was scheduled for tonight has been postponed until tomorrow night,Thurs March 26th, 7pm at Colonel Gray Lecture Theatre.
Registration Information Night for EAL Parents will take place TONIGHT, March 25th at the Newcomers Association office, 50 Water St. Non-Chinese parents and interperters please meet at 6pm. Chinese parents meet at 7pm. Please contact Newcomers Association at 902-628-6009 for more information.
HOME AND SCHOOL UPDATE
The luncheon meeting that was to take place today has been cancelled.
We are looking for 5 parents who are interested in attending the annual meeting of the PEI Home and School Federation which will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015, at the Rodd Charlottetown. Several Resolutions have been proposed by various schools to potentially improve the education of our students. These resolutions can easily be found on the PEI Home and School Federation website, and they will be brought to a vote at the annual meeting. The 5 delegates would be voting members. Please contact the school if you are interested in attending.
